The RTSA(Q) is also a link between Universities and the rail sector ensuring technical advances and student interest is maintained. At least once a year a young railway professionals network evening is organised in Queensland to showcase the rail industry and the young engineers that are making their way in the industry.
Scholarships are offered RTSA Australia for enterprising theses from students and young engineers and awards are bestowed to outstanding Rail personnel for their endeavours in the Industry.
Technical Meetings are normally held in the Engineers Australia Hawken Auditorium (447 Upper Edward Street Spring Hill Qld 4000) on the fourth Wednesday of the month commencing at 17:30. Other events may be organised between our regular meetings when opportunities are presented. Field trips are organised a few times in the year to interesting locals e.g. the “guided transport systems” at Dreamworld or specialised new track equipment at railside. They are generally free for members.
For detail see “Upcoming Events Qld” http://www.engineersaustralia.org.au/queensland-division/events or join the RTSA to receive flyers indicting more information about timing and content of seminars.
